Nature
Science Investigators Camps
(NSI)
In this 4-day program,
3-night program, the nature science investigators (NSI)
will work in teams to answer their own questions about
nature and to unlock secrets that have yet to be
told. After good old-fashioned field exploration,
NSI agents will have an opportunity to use
LabQuest electronic data collectors and other
scientific tools to log and analyze their data in their
own KOSS
Outdoor Investigation Journal.
The forest, wetland, and stream ecosystems
offer many unsolved mysteries for the inquiring
mind.
The investigator will
experience full-inquiry outdoor science aligned to Oregon
science standards. This is a perfect opportunity for
students to experience the inquiry process with
instructors who are trained in that process and have an
extensive knowledge about the natural
world!
Fees
The cost for the NSI Camps is
$195 per student, which includes meals, lodging, supervision,
and instruction. In addition, we ask for a $50 non-refundable
deposit 2 weeks prior to camp. We also offer scholarships
to youth who demonstrate a need. Upon receipt of deposit
we will mail a Camper Packet that includes a list of
what to bring, medical forms, directions to the site, what to
expect from the
curriculum, behavior expectations, and a scholarship
application.
