ODF Logo        Forest Stewardship Camp

During our 4 day (3 night) program, campers will become more aware of the forests that surround them. 

Partnered with the Oregon Department of Forestry, KOSS instructors will teach about forest management and conservation.  Skills learned include:KOSS Forest Study

  • how to measure the height of a tree
  • how to measure board feet (how much wood a tree has to offer)
  • erosion control
  • fire management
  • stream flow
  • resource management

After this program, campers will have an understanding of the complexity of our forest resource management.

Fees

 

The cost for the Forest Stewardship Camps is $145 per student, which includes meals, lodging, supervision, and instruction. In addition, we ask for a $50 non-refundable deposit 2 weeks prior to camp.  We also offer scholarships to youth who demonstrate a need.  Upon receipt of deposit we will mail a Camper Packet that includes a list of what to bring, medical forms, directions to the site, what to expect from the curriculum, behavior expectations, and a scholarship application.
